Magdalena Rychetsky

Viola

Magdalena Rychetsky was born in 2001 in Vienna, Austria. She began her violin studies at the age of five with Andrea Mugrauer and Pia Karls at the Gerasdorfer Musikschule. From 2014- 2019 she was a student in the violin and viola class of Univ.Prof. Georg Hamann at the Johann Sebastian Bach Musikschule. Magdalena went to the Musikgymnasium Wien and got her music high school diploma in 2019. 

The same year she started studying viola at the University of Music and Performing Arts Viennain the class of Univ.Prof. Thomas Selditz. She attended various masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Christos Polyzoides, Demetrius Polyzoides, Elisabeth Polyzoides- Baich, Janna Polyzoides, Margeritha Marseglia, Univ.Prof. Erika Eckert, Roxanne Dykstra, Thomas Hajek, among others. 2018 she won the Martin Hornstein Interpretationspreis at the international masterclasses for solo and chamber music for piano and string players in Bad Leonfelden with the violin and viola and the austrian competition Prima la Musica in lower Austria with the viola. 

Within various chamber music projects and festivals, she played with outstanding musicians such as Univ.Prof. Reinhard Latzko, Vanessa Latzko, Univ.Prof. Prof. Christian AltenburgerUniv.Prof. Mirjam Schröder (Con Anima Festival), Stefan Neubauer, Gerald Preinfalk (Liszt Festival), Herbert Lippert.

Magdalena’s orchestral experience includes various projects in prestigious halls such as the Wiener Musikverein, Wiener Konzerthaus, Haus der Industrie, Schloßtheater Schönbrunn, Philharmonic concert hall Ljubljana, Muth, Stift St. Florian, among others. In the year 2021 Magdalena played as first principal violist at an ORF production with the Philharmonia- Akademie Wien. Currently she is first principal violist at the Schubert Akademie Wien and substitutes at various chamber music ensembles and orchestras such as the Beethoven Philharmonie Wien, Divertimento Viennese, among others.
